Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University (VBSPU), Jaunpur is one of the leading state universities in Uttar Pradesh. Established on 2 October 1987 under the Uttar Pradesh State Universities Act, 1973, the university was later renamed in memory of former Chief Minister Shri Veer Bahadur Singh.
The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate and doctoral programmes through its university campus and affiliated colleges.
